
Jamie Andrews is a British répétiteur, conductor, and organist currently associated with the Opera Studio at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. Before this role, he served as an Emerging Artist at the Fondazione Mascarade Opera in Florence. Jamie was a Répétiteur Fellow at the Royal Academy of Music, where he performed for Handel’s Ariodante under the baton of David Bates, also playing harpsichord continuo during the performances, and for a Martinů double bill conducted by Lada Valešová. In 2024, he attended the prestigious Solti-Peretti course for répétiteurs, learning from renowned figures such as Jonathan Papp, Rodrigo de Vera, Anthony Legge, and Richard Bonynge. That summer, Jamie took on the role of répétiteur for Garsington Opera’s production of Verdi’s Un giorno di regno, conducted by Chris Hopkins and directed by Christopher Alden.
As an organist, Jamie held the position of Organ Scholar at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea from 2023 to 2024, collaborating closely with the Director of Music, William Vann, and conducting the professional choir in his absence. Prior to this, he was an Organ Scholar at New College, Oxford, where he graduated with first-class honours in music. During his time at Oxford, he was a Répétiteur Scholar for New Chamber Opera, making his conducting debut in Spring 2023 with Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti. At just 16 years old, Jamie received the prestigious Andrew Lloyd Webber Music Scholarship to study at Eton College, where he honed his piano skills under Libby Burgess and James Kirby, and studied organ with David Goode. Jamie has also been an Associate of the Royal College of Organists since 2019.
